Quality Control: a vital part of the manufacturing process

Quality control is a vital part of the manufacturing process. Preventing mistakes and defects in products before they’ve left their origin country not only provides peace of mind to businesses, but it ensures money isn’t wasted on products that must be returned in the future.

Our quality control services utilise our contacts in China to visit any factory to carry out random quality assurance of products you have produced.

Why is quality control important?

Even when factories have the best of intentions, mistakes can be made when it comes to exactly reproducing a product thousands of times. Whether it be a certain instruction lost in translation, or an oversight on the manufacturers behalf, it’s inevitable that sometimes defects present themselves among products.

The best way to mitigate these problems is to use a quality control service to ensure high standards. The worst case scenario is that your customers are the ones to discover the defects.

How our quality control service works

We are able to send an independent contractor to the factory or warehouse of your choice to inspect and report on any part of the delivery and manufacturing process. Products are chosen at random and thoroughly inspected against a checklist provided by the customer, and then a report is generated based on our findings.

This report can be used to ensure high standards and quickly identify and rectify problems which are discovered, thus avoiding disruption to the supply chain.

The Concept Creator Package

We are your buying agent. We guide you through the entire process and work with you to achieve a high quality final product with a low minimum order quantity and low unit cost.

To sign up to this package you’ll need to have a product concept and a basic design (preferably CAD). This can be provided for an additional one-off fee.

1. Source a manufacturer

We contact factories in Asia who are able to manufacture the product and select the best option based on a number of factors such as quoted unit cost, minimum order quantity, final product quality and amount of experience in the specific industry.

2. Generate a quotation sheet

We provide a full quotation sheet including product numbers, images, material specifications, size, weights, MOQ and freight on board (FOB).

3. Pre-production samples

The manufacturer creates pre-production samples (PPS) to the specifications and ships these to Sourcing Elements and the client for inspection. These prototypes can also be used to generate investment in a product, market research, or pre-production sales.

We take care of sample costs for you.

4. Analyse the PPS and feedback to the factory

We provide feedback to the manufacturer based on the data gathered from the prototype and either proceed to final production or modify the product and create another round of prototypes.

5. Begin production of the bulk purchase

Once you are happy with the prototype we will instruct the factory to being bulk production to the exact specifications chosen for the final prototype.

These costs will be paid by the client.

6. Monitor the progress

We look after your orders and make sure everything runs efficiently and within the expected time frame. If any difficulties or complications arise we are available to discuss and negotiate with the factory.

7. Organise the freight

Once the production is complete we are responsible for all the export documents and sending the goods to your forwarders warehouse or port destination.

Please note: we act as a buying agent for you which means you’ll be required to pay us the FOB amount and we will forward this through to the manufacturer in order to have your products created.  You do not receive the manufacturers contact.

White Labelling

This package is suitable for those with a pre-existing business looking to extend their product range, or a start-up looking for proven product ideas to jumpstart their business.

We offer your a range of products to choose from, and then liaise with relevant factories in Asia to have these imported to your warehouse.

You can choose two categories of products (for example handbags and hats) and we will compile a list of twenty product options per category.

2. Choose your favourite products

From this list of products, you choose two products in each category which best serve your businesses’ needs, and then we will negotiate with the manufacturers of these products on your behalf.

For example:
